Wireless Instruments

New to GHWT is a redesigned, more responsive guitar controller, which features a touch-sensitive slide bar on the neck that allows the player to play through certain song passages without needing to strum. Check out the drum kit featuring three drum pads, two raised cymbals, and a bass kick pedal. The drum controller combines larger and quieter, velocity-sensitive drum heads with soft rubber construction to deliver authentic bounce back and is easy to set up, move, break down and store.

Be the Next Great Songwriter

Music Studio lets players express their musical creativity by giving them access to a full complement of tools to create digital music from scratch utilizing the guitar controller and drum kit. Players can create their tracks and then play them in-game or share the recordings with the entire Guitar Hero community through GHTunes. GHTunes allows other gamers from around the world to download and play the community's original tracks.

Create the Band

Budding rock stars can live out their rock n roll fantasies by playing either a single instrument or any combination of instruments, in addition to the full band experience. When rocking as part of a band, up to four players can jam together in quickplay or as they progress through a career. Both band and single-player careers feature non-linear progression giving artists the option to change difficulty and instruments with a variety of different gigs available at any time.

Never Jam Solo Again

Virtual musicians in need of band mates can take their careers online forming worldwide ensembles so no rock star ever has to play a gig solo. Plus, GHWT adds a "Battle of the Bands" modes, which allows eight players to join online and challenge each other band-to-band to establish global supremacy.

A Game Play Mode Just for the Wii

Jump into the "Mii Freestyle" game play mode that is unique to the Wii. Create Blues, Rock or Metal masterpieces by yourself, or join with friends to jam freely together on guitar controllers and the drum kit controller.

Customize Everything

The character creator allows gamers to create a rock star with style as unique as their own. Absolute customization from the clothes, to the facial and body structure, to the tattoos and accessories, players are encouraged to unleash their inner rock legend. The Rock Star Creator doesn't just allow players to build the ultimate rock god; the in-depth creators include the ability to customize guitars, drums and microphones. Adding yet another layer of personalization, gamers can create custom logos for their instruments, band, or album covers.

A Set List for the Ages

The Guitar Hero World Tour set list is comprised entirely of master recordings from some of the greatest artists of all-time including Van Halen, Linkin Park, The Eagles, and Sublime. There are over 85 tracks, plus frequent downloadable singles and track packs. • Very Cool, But....

    L. Iwai (Lion) - Boston, MA USA

I got this game and was very excited to play with ally friends.
It comes with a guitar, drum and a mic, so, at least 3 of us could play simultaneously.
However, I got disapointed as I only had 2 controlers. And you MUST have 3 controlers to activate all 3 equips.
And this info isn't written anywere.
In the end I had to spend 70 bucks for a new set of controlers.
If you already have 3 controllers then I'm sure you will have lots of fun with all your friends and family.

  • Fun!

Ceejay (CJ) - Rio de Janeiro, Brasil

Very fun! Great to have some friends over and rock!

Three things I didn't like: you need a wii remote control for each instrument (microphone also); the letters on the lyrichs are a little too small; you have to "unlock" some of the songs (this is only bad for light users! If you are a heavy user addicted type of gamer you won't mind!)

  • Drums Don't Work

    Timothy Cassidy (timcassidy) - Florida

I noticed my kids and their friends never used the drums. Apparently they didn't work correctly and frequently caused the song to fail. Unforunately this was after we'd had the set for a while and couldn't return it. Tried the drum tuning cable from the manufacturer and it made absolutely no difference. The drums sit in the corner covered in dust.

  • GREAT Game And Accually Teaches You Something.

    Teenager LN

So, to start off I would like to say that I am a 14 year olg girl that has played the real guitar for 8 years and hasen't played many video games. (Oh, and I have bad spelling, so please forgive any mistakes in the following reveiw.) Also: please keep in mind this is from my point of view and things could be different for you.

About a month ago I was at arcade (kinda) and there was guitar hero. It was playing some random but good music, and considering my guitar background I figured it would be fun. I put in a few coins and I was surrprised at the number of options and songs and charachters it had. When the music started, it felt only a bit different than from playing the real guitar. It had all the main componants. I instantly knew I needed to buy the game and since my family had gotten a Wii for Christmas, I figured I would buy the game for that.

The next day I began serching the internet for the game. I was thinking about only getting the guitar set thinking the whole kit would be a bit of a waste of money. After seeing a really good price at [...], I dessided to buy the whole band kit only to find that they charged way too much for shipping. I went looking again. I went back to amazon and looked at their used kits. I found a seller that had great reviews and ordered it along with ordering an extra guitar (also used)from a different seller. In all I spent about $[...] including shipping (that was for the whole band kit and another GHWT guitar).

Finally the systems came in the mail(earlier than expected) and I droped everything I was doing to open it up. I assembled the few things that needed to be without the instructions(they weren't sent) and it was super easy. The drums seemed sturdy and the guitat was in great shape.

I put the game in and started off with the guitar. I made my own little band to play with and was surrprised at how easy it was so go through the menus and look at all the different options. I am not going to descripe all that as you can view it in other places.

I am now going to go through each thing and give my opinion and any extra info I didn't know before I got the game:

    SONGS:
There are many different songs that the whole family can enjoy. There are major songs from all the time periods and it isen't limited to rock songs. There is a wide range from pop and Michel Jackson to super hard core metal. I was, however, a bit dissapointed. There were songs that had been on older GHs that were great, but not on GHWT. Also, you can buy new songs (though I haven't done so as I don't have the credits) but even there there aren't that many songs. As previously said it is a bit annoying to have to unlock songs, but they came pretty fast, and there is a cheat code so you can automatically unlock them all.
Also, it is a bit hard to remember which songs you like playing and which just aren't, it would be nice it there was some personal rating thing.

    GUITAR:
The design is great and pretty simple. The star power button takes a bit of getting used to, but its ok. When playing in a band, even though you may own two guitars, one person has to play bass and one guitar which is kinda annoying.

    DRUMS:
I absolutly love the drums. They seem well constructed and and amazing to play. WARNING: they are hard to play (at least for me) and you may get frustrated, but it is totally worth it to keep practicing and all. I am accually getting pretty good after the hours a day I have spent playing for the last week. I think this is also a great learning thing because you are really practicing hand-eye cordination and rhythem and you get really cheap hands on drum lessons. So if you or your kid wants to learn how to play the drums, this seems to be a really great starting point. I know I have learned alot.
If you are going to give up, there isen't much point in getting the whole kit. Just buy the guitar set if you aren't going to use the drums because the singing isen't worth it.
WARNING: I didn't relize this before I bought the game, but the drums to require another remote, so you will need 4 remotes.

    SINGING:
As I said, the singing isen't worth it in my opinion. I think this becacue my biggest pet peave is when people who aren't great at singing, try to sing. They try to hit the notes on here and that just doesn't work out well. The microphone plugs into a little usb port in the back of your Wii which I find slightly hard to get to. Also, you do need a remote for the singing too! So you do need 1 remote for each componant of the game which is kinda weird because the microphone is already working and sending the pitch.

I did have some problems with playing with multiple players because m the game wouldn't agnowledge that there was indead another istrument ready to play. I did eventually solve this by going to the main menu and pushing the sync button(under the battery cover) on the 2nd remote and at the same time puching the sync button on the wii. Now the game knows that both of them are there and I haven't had to redo this.

So basically this is a great game for the family (kids under 7 or so probely shouldn't play because of some of the rhemes though swear words are blocked out). I love it and everything seems like it will hold up. Don't waste your money on this if you aren't going to use it regularly. If you don't play your normal wii at least 2 hours a week there isen't a point in buying this because you might just not be a video game type of person.
But if you are a parent and your kid is asking for this game, I would say that you should buy it for them, or at least buy the guitar set for them.

  • Awesome

    Hamitime

my friends and family all had rock band and had the drums and I loved playing the drums - at the time all the wii had was GH3. I had this reserved 3 months in advance and did the free overnight shipping, got it the 2nd day it was out (shipped sunday and arrived monday). Great game to play with the whole family. If anyone is bad they can play on beginner and still be included. The negatives on this was my yellow cymbol had a bad plug on the end of the cable. I could have rma'd the thing and waited 6 weeks, so I snipped off the plug and wired on a new one and then my kit was as good as new. DLC is an issue on this game, rb2 has more main stream content and ghwt has more of the obscure content. I have both games and love playing them both, I just do most of my dlc on rb2.
